Annual Costs

•  All typing and editing work is done by volunteers

• One-time cost for a new server and software needed for GLOW's advanced search capacity

• Considerable annual maintenance costs including computer services

• Expenses for the GLOWawards depending upon the number awarded at $50 a piece. If additional funds are raised, they will be spent on increasing the amount of each student award or by giving more awards.

How GLOW was financed from July 2003 to  May 2008

• All expenses were donations from Cecilia Cloughly and her husband Frank Stott.

• Charles Cloughly donated all programming, a server and maintenance costs.  His firm Cloughly Consulting is located in Georgetown, Kentucky, and his main client is Totoya.

Fully Tax Deductible Donations

GLOW developed out of a chapter project of the non-profit American Association of Teachers of German founded in 1926 (www.aatg.org), and all donations to GLOW are tax deductible. Financial records are maintained in a restricted account "GLOW Fund, AATG" at the organization's national office in New Jersey.

Donation Procedures

·      Checks must be made out to "GLOW Fund, AATG" and be sent to: Dr. Cecilia Cloughly

The check will be registered; an official acknowledgement for the IRS will be sent to the donor; and then the check will be forwarded to the AATG National Office for deposit into the GLOW restricted account.
